Hello every one. If you have taken the time to visit this
page then you must want to know something about me.
Well here it goes.
I am a young woman in my fifties happy of heart and spirit.
Over the last few months we have moved from our North
Idaho home to the beaches of Oregon. I must say it is quite
a pleasant difference from the long months of snow and
cold to the mild weather here. Although the wind can get
pretty wicked, living one block for the beach makes up for
it.
My education is in art and medicine, however on this page I
will tell you about my art. I have had lessons of one kind or
another from my renowned artist Grandmother my entire
life. She is the grounding force in what I do today. She
recently turned 103 years old and is still teaching me the
things I need to know. My inspiration for beading came
from a wonderful Athabaskan couple that lived near
Fairbanks, AK. They are both on the other side now but I
know they smile down on me from time to time. The
lessons learned from them will forever be with me. The
lessons of life the lessons of art.
My bead art has taken me places and has allowed me to
meet some of the nicest people. In selling, teaching or
writing books and articles about beading and cultural arts I
have found a wealth of friendship.
People often ask how I can do this small tedious art form. I
simply tell them I am beading all of the time, in my mind, in
my heart, in my dreams. Beading for me is as breathing. My
eyes are getting older and I have trouble with my beading
thumb and I have been sharing my body with Lupus for the
last 7 years. It is affecting my brain and spine. Leaving my
motor function on it own at times. I will however, be
beading until the end.
If you have any questions or need any assistance please
eamil me. I answer each and every letter.
Many Blessings
Nicole
