Hello every one. If you have taken time to visit this page then
you must want to know something about me. Hmmmmm
Well here it goes.
I am a young woman in my fifties happy of heart and spirit. I
live in North Idaho right on the Idaho/Montana border. It is by
far one of the most beautiful places on earth. Yes, we get snow
here!!! But the spring, summer and fall make up for the months
we spend shoveling and shivering.
My education is in art and medicine, however, on this page I
will tell you about my art. I have had lessons of one kind or
another from my renowned artist Grandmother my entire life.
She is the grounding force of what I do today. She will is 100
years young and still teaches me the things I need to know.
My inspiration for beading came from a wonderful Athabaskan
couple that lived near Fairbanks, AK. They are both on the
other side now but I know that they smile down on me from
time to time. The lessons learned from them will forever be with
me. The lessons of life, the lessons of art.
My bead art has taken me places and has allowed me to meet
some of the nicest people. In selling, teaching or writing articles
about beading and cultural arts I have found a wealth of
friendship.
People often ask how I can do this small tedious art form. I
simply tell them I am beading all of the time even in my dreams.
Beading for me is as breathing. My eyes are getting older and I
have trouble with my beading thumb but I see no end to this at
all.
For me that's a pretty good feeling.
I am honored to have many articles published in Bead n
Button, Lapidary Journal , Step by Step and Bead Unique
magazines. I have two of my own books published and a third
will be out very soon. I instruct beading and Spiritual arts
classes any where one will have me ha ha ha but mostly in the
Northwest. At one time my partner and I sold at art shows from
Oklahoma to California. Now however, I only do a few special
shows a year and they are local.
I also teach at Bead retreats and special gatherings. If you have
something coming up and are interested in my style of teaching
you can contact me.
Or if you have any questions on beads or beading. I answer all
of my email.
Thank you for spending time here and I hope there is something
on my site that has made you smile or tickled your fancy
Peace and health to all that come this way.
Nicole
